Day 14

Today was the day to go to Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain, & Bass Harbor Lighthouse. The drive through Acadia was gorgeous! At sand beach, Teri, Caden & Jacob (Kim's nephews) waded in the 46 degree ocean. But not for long! At the top of Cadillac Mountain, the scenery was amazing. It was windy though! We went to lunch in Bar Harbor. The parking was terrible. Ray & Teri had to park so far from the restaurant that we decided to eat across the street in a restaurant overlooking the harbor instead of walking blocks back to the restaurant where everyone else was eating. It was a tough choice but Ray & I had to eat lobster rolls again. The Bass Harbor Lighthouse was easy to get to. I was surprised at how small it was but that's because it was already up on a cliff so it didn't need much height. The best view of it is from the water. There was a trail to walk down to the other side. It had 65 steps. It was worth the view. We all went separate places for dinner. Ray & I went to a restaurant were you picked your lobster & they cooked it in big pots outside. It was wonderful and cheap. While we waited, we had a couple of pounds of mussels to eat. Our bill only came to a little over $50.00. Ray even had a beer. Tomorrow we are going to another part of Acadia and then we will head to Canada on Sunday.
