Rain, Rain,and More Rain

Let me start by saying that we had a really hard rain last night and this morning Jim's A400 wouldn't start. The guys found that there was a lot of water in the gas. After draining most of the gas out, using alcohol, adding new gas, the car was running OK again. We went to Williamsburg and left around 2:30 when it started to rain again. By the time we got back to our cars at the welcome center, it was raining hard. We decided to go a shorter distance today as the rain was not going to let up. Guess what, Jim's car would not start again! This time, there was water in the gas that was in the carburator. So we are keeping Jim's car under cover tonight. We will get an early start in the morning. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow! It was fun walking around Williamsburg and even though we'd been to Williamsburg many times, I still learned some new things. I didn't know that in the 1930's John Rockefeller donated a huge some of money to save Williamsburg. They asked Henry Ford for help and he declined. Many of the buildings were reconstructed using the original plans. The first picture is Jim's car that wouldn't start this morning. Next two pictures, are at Williamsburg. In the fourth picture, Ray talked quite a while with a wheelwright. Williamsburg is one of the few remaining craftsman like this. They send their products all over the USA. The last picture is Jim's inoperable car at the Welcome Center. Tomorrow promises to be a better day! We hope to be in Pennsylvania tomorrow night.
