Kennebunkport Day 2

We woke up this morning to a weather forecast of humid and balmy and it was 52degrees. The big deal in Kennybunkport today is that it is Barbara Bush's 90th birthday. There are banners up lots of places saying "Happy 90th Birthday Barbara Bush." We drove past the Bush Compound today. We also saw two light houses, Nubble & Goat Island. The point where you saw the Goat Island Light House had a restaurant that had some good lobster rolls. We also went to Strawberry Banke, renamed Portsmouth, NH. It had several 1700-1800 houses there. It was interesting to walk through and see the houses furnished with period furniture. They had craft demonstrations and elementary students were learning how to weave. We followed US 1 & 1A most of the day. The scenery was breath taking. We saw lots of houses with barns attached. We had lunch in Ogunquit, ME. Of course had to stop at the bakery and candy store on the way out. The candy store had some tasty white chocolate. We are eating dinner at Alison's in Kennybunkport. Tomorrow we will be in Portland. We were in a store at Strawberry Banke that had goods from 1943. That's what the first 3 pictures are. I loved the lobster holding an ice cream cone in the ice cream shop. The rest are just a few pictures of the spectacular scenery. The mansion across the water is the Bush Summer Home. we
