A Perfect "A" Day

The guys spent an hour this morning doing some routine maintenance like checking tire pressure and it took a while to add air because of the battery operated pump. Everyone was OK. I guess they did preventative maintenance. Today was a perfect "A" day. The weather was wonderful, sunshine with a breeze and mid seventies temperatures. We decided to scratch Saratoga from our places to stop due to time restraints. We wound up and down hills in Pennsylvania and New York states. Lunch was at Bob's Diner in Bainbridge, NY. It opened in 1935. Lunch was good and they had some really good ice cream too! We drove past a lot of farms with red barns, pretty farm houses, rolling hills, and a lot of historic buildings. We meandered through lots of small towns. We saw a Model A in a shed and a Double A truck in a field just rusting away with grass growing around and through it. Tonight we sat outside at the Redwood Family Diner in Schenectady, NY watching people look at our cars. We did a "NAPA" tour day looking for extra fan belts. We finally gave up. Jim decided to order the fan belts from the Peachtree City NAPA. Kim will pick them up and bring them to Maine when she arrives on Sunday. Late this afternoon we pulled into a gas station and an elderly gentleman got out of his car. He said "Is that an A400? Can I look at it? He and his wife were coming back from Niagara Falls. They were celebrating their 55th anniversary. Tomorrow we will be in Maine. Can't wait! As of today, we have driven 1,358 miles.
